“Work” takes countless forms, and these photographs speak to the range and nuance within people’s working lives. I try to meet each person as an individual situated in the world of their profession, paying attention to the way they move, inhabit their space, and present themselves. What emerges is more than a simple record of a nurse or a car mechanic; it is a portrait of a whole person, seen through the lens of what they do and how they choose to do it.
